I used to have a thimble stall at a series of collectables fairs where one of the prerequisites was to have a display. The fairs were themed and one of my most popular displays I did featured Christmas thimbles. It was fairly simple, using a small Christmas tree as the backdrop and displaying the colourful thimbles that usually depict Christmas. From that display seeds were sown as to how easy it was to have a collection within a collection. Thimble collecting with a theme is really popular. One of the most collectable is the annual Christmas thimble.
It is often difficult to establish a start and/or finish date for a specific series - hence this alphabetic listing. This series is not confined to china, ceramic or porcelain: it also includes pewter, sterling silver and wood.
Those not included in this listing are non-commercial china Christmas thimbles, and those not dated (i.e. Twelve days of Christmas sets). Some of the brands below are not dated, but they originate for the specific Christmas listed - more of an oversight on their part?
